Beat the Summer Heat, Take a Hike!

Looking for a way to Beat the Heat? Head for the Hills for an afternoon Hike.  Enjoy mother nature and some cooler temps. We have some great hiking trails close by!

Big Morongo Preserve in Morongo Valley – Follows a willow stream for 5 miles and offers a whole new world to wander. The preserve is a sanctuary for native plant and animal wildlife, with 31,000 acres of spring-fed marshland and home to one of the most beautiful oases in Great Palm Springs.  This is a through hike, so you can make arrangements for a car at the other end, or follow the stream back to where you began, doubling your adventure.

Joshua Tree National Park – 1,250 square miles and the most popular hiking and camping and rock climbing attractions.  For the leisure hike, you may want to look for the three-mile 49 Palms Oasis Hike or the Lost Horse Mine and Mountain Hike

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Hiking – Take the Tram up to Mountian Station 8,000 feet elevation , (an adventure by itself), once at the top you’ll find 54 miles of trails ranging from scenic walks to extreme tests. Take the easy,  Long Valley Discovery Loop, an easy 1 mile loop path that introduces hikers to the park’s flora and fauna. The Round Valley Hike is one you  might like, it’s a moderate 2.5 mile hike.  Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy nature, they have picnic tables nearby.
